UN-Habitat developed Urban October to raise awareness, promote participation, generate knowledge, and engage the international community towards the New Urban Agenda (NUA). This is GPEIG’s second Urban October event.
We ask our roundtable speakers: (1) How can multi-level governance enable climate action for cities? (2) What are the challenges and lessons learned from different world regions? (3) What can urban planning educators, researchers, and professionals do to facilitate climate change mitigation and adaptation?

The International Planning Case Studies Project, a collaboration between the University of Michigan and Texas A&M University, has all-new cases to incorporate into your classroom. This free library of practitioner-developed cases includes teaching guidance, suggested readings, visual materials, and more.
Maria Atuesta Ortiz, who earned her PhD in Urban Planning from Harvard University, won the Gill-Chin Lim Award for Best Dissertation in International Planning. Read more about her work.
